Edward Elliott MD, Retired

Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, UCLA

As of July 1, 2017 I have retired from the practice of psychiatry after forty years of providing medical care. I would like to thank you for the trust you have given me as your psychiatrist. Caring for you has been an honor. Your psychological health has been my priority.

For the next decade I will be available for the transfer of records. Print and fill out the enclosed authorization form for the release of medical records. On receipt of this signed form, I will forward a copy of your medical records to the new psychiatrist you designate. Signed requests for copies of medical records can be faxed to me at (310) 861-5750.

During retirement, I will continue to practice what I preach; having fun and taking care of myself. My focus in psychiatric treatment has always been to alleviate the biological and psychological obstacles to the enjoyment of life and the caring for yourself that makes this possible. Politically, I continue to believe the counter-intuitive idea that one of the best ways to take care of yourself is to care for others.

My volunteer teaching of medical students and psychiatric residents at UCLA goes on and I plan to start other volunteer projects. Natasha and I will continue to explore the world. Our travel photos can be seen here.
